Anthony Alfred "Tony" Gioia

Dear family,
I have had great pleasure in studying Number Theory from the book by your beloved Tony.
Someone in faraway Belgium also kind of "knew" him.

I was privileged to be in Dr. Gioias Differential Equations class in the mid 1980s. He was so enthusiastic and engaging. He seemed like such a strong person and yet kind and fair. I know this is a very late message on his passing, but I searched on him and found the obituary after being reminded of him in recent news about the Covid-19 presented by Dr. Fauci. Both men impress me as strong, helpful and mighty. The class with Dr. Gioia was one of the best of the engineering curriculum. God bless him and his family.
