Anthony 'Tony' Hillman, also known as "Frog," was born in Columbus, OH, on April 2, 1954. It is with heavy hearts that we celebrate the life of Tony who was called home to be with the Lord unexpectedly at the age of 71 on Thursday, January 15, 2026. He was an army veteran whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and love to all who knew him. He was a soul deeply connected to the rhythms of music, the beauty of nature, and the joy of family. His days were filled with melodies that lifted spirits, plants that thrived under his care, and moments of fun that reminded us all to live life. His love was felt in the way he showed up for others. Though he might fuss at you from time to time, it was never without affection—his way of guiding, protecting, and reminding you that you mattered.
Family was his anchor, and friends became family in his eyes. He could light up a room, and his presence was made known, as well as talk trash with the best of them. Whether tending to his plants, sharing a favorite song, or simply enjoying the company of loved ones, he lived with a heart wide open...had a heart of gold.
He leaves behind a legacy of hustle, joy, and devotion. His memory will continue to bloom in the gardens he nurtured, echo in the music he cherished, and live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
Tony had a large, loving family. He was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Charles and Ruth Hillman, brother Timothy Hillman, and sister Patty Hillman. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Radford, children Anthony L (Jackie) Hillman, Tone Hall, Keenan Hall, Sterling Smith, Amber (General) Smith, Deahzja (Beyonce) Frazier, and Missy Hall. Siblings Rose Nyani, Michael Hillman, Sharlene Purvis, and Trina Simcox. 24 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, special great grandson DJ, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
