Anthony Lambert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas J. Pirro Jr. Funeral Home on Mar. 2, 2026.
Anthony Joseph Lambert, 79, of Syracuse, passed away on February 26, 2026. Born on February 12, 1947, to Rose Virgilio Lambert and Edward Anthony Lambert, he lived a life defined by devotion, generosity, and loyalty to the people he loved.

Anthony graduated from Unity College in Maine in 1971 and went on to spend the majority of his professional life with the New York Telephone Company. He was extraordinarily proud of his work and never missed a single day - a testament to his reliability and work ethic. During time spent in New York City, Anthony embraced his love for music and creativity. He worked as a backup studio singer for Motown Records and later spent time working at both Record World and Cash Box Magazines. Returning home to Syracuse, he became a proud member of the Pompeian Players, performing in several local productions, including "Guys and Dolls." Anthony was a longtime member of the Rotary Club of Eastwood and a devoted parishioner of St. Daniel's Church. He volunteered at Saint Francis House and Saint Joseph's Hospital, always offering his time and heart where they were needed most. Anthony supported numerous charities throughout his life, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the American Lung Association, and the American Scoliosis Association. After retiring, Anthony dedicated himself to fully caring for his mother. He tended to her with love and dignity, reflecting the deep loyalty that defined his character. To his family, Anthony was a constant presence, a source of unwavering support, and a beloved figure in the community. Known affectionately as "Uncle Tony" by everyone, he had an extraordinary gift for making people feel cared for, welcomed, and included.

Tony's steady presence, warm heart, and quiet acts of generosity leave a legacy that will be carried forward by all who loved him. He will be deeply missed.

He is predeceased by his sister, Anne Bresadola.

Anthony is survived by his sister, Jennifer Lambert Gentile (Michael); his nieces and nephews, Michael Bresadola, Thomas (Brenda) Bresadola, Theresa Ferrigan (Kevin), Lisa Gentile (Jeffrey States), Robin Tepe (James), and Tara Wood (Donald); as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews who adored him.

A funeral Mass in celebration of Anthony's life will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, March 6, 2026 at St. Daniel Church, 3004 Court St., Syracuse, NY, followed by burial in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY.
