ANTHONY LUCKY was born September 19, 1941 in Centerville, Illinois to Judge and Annie Luckey. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, one sister, and four brothers.

Anthony attended East St. Louis Public Schools and graduated from East St. Louis Lincoln Senior High School Class of 1959. After graduation, Anthony entered into the United States Air Force where he served as a Military Police Officer stationed in Kansas. At that time, three daughters were born. Whitney, Tonya, and Ardith. Within his years of service, he completed tours that included Alaska and North Africa.

After his return home, Anthony met Mildred. The two were united in Holy Matrimony on July 10, 1970. To this union two children were born, Leland and Michelle. Anthony was baptized April 10, 1982 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, now known as St. Augustine of Hippo, where he served in various capacities as a dedicated member over the years.

Anthony worked for Union Electric (Ameren) for 35 years until retirement. Over the years, Anthony served as the boys and girls head basketball coach for St. Joseph and Sr. Thea Bowman Catholic Schools. After retirement, he was an umpire and referee with the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) for several years. Anthony was very hands -on and family-oriented. He could fix anything, lived very independently, and loved watching sports. The family's favorite was Sunday breakfast and his bar-be-que.

On Monday, September 15, 2025, Anthony departed this life surrounded by his devoted wife of 55 years, his son, and daughter.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Mildred; five children, Michelle, Leland (Tenisha), Ardith, Tonya (Eric) Brown, and Whitney; two sisters, Kirbie Baldwin and Deborah Waller; one brother, Vincent (Fredia) Luckey; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
