Anthony Donald "Buddy" Malone, Patriarch of the Malone family, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023.
He was born an only child on April 5, 1927, son of Pasquale and Anna (DiGeorge) Malone.
Buddy excelled at a variety of sports, including baseball, golf, tennis, and bowling. His athleticism earned him numerous awards and accolades, but he will be most remembered for his contributions to the sport of bowling. His innumerable feats and untiring dedication to the sport earned him membership to the Erie Bowling Hall of Fame, the Pennsylvania State Bowling Hall of Fame, and the Italian American Sports Hall of Fame. His love and prowess for bowling drove him to become one of the founding members of Eastland Bowl. There Buddy served the Erie bowling community for more than 40 years with a passion that inspired an admiration and respect for the man that is unparalleled within the Erie bowling community.
Buddy was a dedicated family man, always making time to attend the activities of his son, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He enjoyed treating his family to dinner at every opportunity where he could spend time with everyone.
He will be greeted in Heaven by so many, but most especially his loving wife of 74 years Constance "Tina" and son Patrick.
He is survived by his daughter in law Andrea Malone, his grandchildren Keith (Kelly) Malone, Nicole (Matt) Potosnak, Anthony (Shannon) Malone, Marissa (Chris) Martin, and Alex Valerio (Jack Kloecker); his great grandchildren Kylin Malone, Aliese Malone and Charlotte Potosnak, his sister-in-law Josephine "Jaye" Cimino, and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. All of whom will miss him dearly.
Friends may call on Tuesday, January 2nd at the Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2502 Sassafras St. Erie, PA 16502 from 3pm until 7pm and to the prayer service Wednesday, January 3rd at 9:15 am at the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Paul's Church.
