ANTHONY J. MARTELLI, age 88, of Kennett Square, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at his residence. He was the husband of Betsy Dawson Sabatini Martelli, who passed away in 2010, and with whom he shared 7 years of marriage. Born in Kennett Square, PA, he was the son of the late Luca and Josephine Galante Martelli. Mr. Martelli was a mushroom grower, and part owner of the family business, Luca Martelli Sons, in Kennett Square, which has been in business since 1927 He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army He was a member of St. Patrick's Chuch, the Italian American Club and the American Legion, all in Kennett Square, PA, and the National Rifle Association. Mr. Martelli enjoyed hunting, fishing, scuba diving and watching TV. He is survived by two sons, Ernest Martelli and his fiancée Lisa Gormel of Kennett Square, PA and Stephen Martelli and his wife Beverly of Swedesboro, NJ; two daughters, Cynthia Martelli Brotherton and her fiancé Geoff Hylton of Newark, DE and Theresa Martelli Kupchinski and her husband John of Lewes, DE; one brother, James Martelli of Downingtown, PA; one sister, Rose Anderson of Oxford, PA, and ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son, Anthony Martelli, his first wife, Mary Ann Stewart Martelli and his second wife, Jennie DiBartolomeo Martelli. You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 on Monday evening, December 22, 2014, and again from 8:15 to 9:15 on Tuesday morning, December 23, 2014, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, PA. His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 Tuesday morning at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square, PA. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Route 82, Kennett Square. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.griecocares.com
