Anthony Martinez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rundus Funeral Home & Crematory on Jan. 30, 2024.
Anthony "Tony" Martinez Jr., aged 39, passed away peacefully on January 27th, 2024. He was surrounded by his family and close friends. After months of battling medical challenges, he is now at peace. Anthony will be missed by many, as he was a devoted father, loving son and brother, friend and confidant. He was humble and kind, a brilliant mechanical mind, creative and talented artist, and someone who just wanted to make everyone happy.
He was born August 27th, 1984 to his loving parents Linda (Straface) and Tony "Senior" Martinez in Denver, Colorado. He grew up and cherished his close relationship with his sister Valerie. Early in his life he discovered his talent and passion for all things mechanical. He honed these skills during his teen years and graduated from Broomfield High School in 2002.
Everything Tony did in life showed his strong work ethic and passion for helping others. His depth of pride for his country and community was evidenced by him enlisting and attending bootcamp with the United States Marines and his dedication while serving as a local police officer. He continued to elevate his knowledge and experience, serving at United Airlines as the Technical Supervisor for all ground equipment at three major airports.
But of all the roles that defined him, being a dad to Ryker, Mia and Harper was his most cherished. Along with Ryann, creating memories as a family, was so important to him. His eyes would light up with pride at any mention of his beloved children and he happily shared any fun new stories or milestones of theirs with anyone who would hear them. We know he will forever be guiding and protecting them.
If you knew him- you knew true friendship, generosity and love. He was always available to help a friend, family member or even a stranger in need. If he wasn't working or helping someone, he enjoyed time with his life long friends and wrenching, shooting, golfing or riding. He didn't just have a way with wrenches but was also a skilled artist. He created many pieces, including the murals in his children's rooms. The beauty of his art was only overshadowed by the grace and beauty of his soul.
A simple obituary could never hold all the greatness he embodied. The proof of this is in how very much he will be missed.
We ask that in lieu of flowers, please donate to Marine Corps League, as the Marine Corps was very near and dear to his heart. https://secure.etransfer.com/eft/flexblockcode/donation1.cfm?d2org=MCLeague&d2tool=donate
