Father Anthony

Father Anthony, whose given name was William Dennis Good, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Marquardt Health Center.
The funeral service for Father Anthony will be held at noon on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Hafemeister Funeral Home, with Father Panteleimon Dalianis officiating. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. His final resting place will be at Richwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sts Constantine & Helen Church. Born on September 24, 1941, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of William Good and Marie (née Brossman) Hall. Father Anthony was deeply dedicated to his faith, having become a Greek Orthodox Priest in 1960. He served with devotion at Saints Cyril and Methodius Church in Lorain, OH, and later established the Zion Orthodox Hermitage in Exile in Richwood, WI.
Apart from his religious duties, Father Anthony had a diverse professional life, including positions at Bethesda, Richwood Recycling Center, Kayser Foundation in OH, and Angelica Healthcare in OH. His compassionate heart was evident in his personal life as well; he fostered 46 children, demonstrating a profound commitment to caring for others.
A man of the land, Father Anthony enjoyed a simple life in Richwood, where he raised goats, pigeons, chickens, and geese on his farm. He was also a friend to many stray cats and had a beloved dog, Frankie. Known for his regular walks into Watertown, Father Anthony was a familiar and comforting presence in the community. His love for opera and commitment to praying for others were just a few of the many ways he touched the lives around him.
Father Anthony is survived by his son, Steve (Colleen) Good; grandchildren Courtney, Tanner (Emily), Raigan, and Nohra Good; siblings Sandra (Dennis) Rogala, Don (Debbie) Good, Joan (Don) Samanas; sister-in-law Dinah Good; friend Jeffrey Bradshaw; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Richard and Ken Good.
Father Anthony's life was a testament to his faith, his love for his family, and his unwavering dedication to those around him. He will be remembered for his kindness, his willingness to listen, and his gentle heart.
