Anthony Daniel Pappas

Anthony "Tony" D. Pappas, 82, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Tony was born in Akron to the late Daniel and Mary Pappas and was a lifelong area resident. He served in the US Marine Corp Reserves. Tony retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after 35 years. He loved going to Friday Night Football games for his alma mater St. Mary (later St. Vincent-St.Mary HS), and for his grandkids. Tony also loved watching the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturdays. He really enjoyed spending time with his family at family gatherings. Tony was a longtime member at St. Andrew the Apostle in Norton.

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his wife Lani A. Pappas; siblings Christine, Frances, Mary Ann, Helen, Clara, Margaret, James "Sonny", Thomas, and Bobby; and daughter-in-law Gretchen Pappas. He is survived by his children Anthony M. (Gina), James, Dan (Staci), Nicole, and Carice; grandchildren Anthony F., Kaile, Alaina, Maddie, Ryan, Aiden, Peyton, Brayden, Tyler, Christopher, Sydney, Coen, and Brody; great-grandchildren Lani and Anthony K.; and many other loved ones.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 10AM at St. Andrew the Apostle, 4022 Johnson Rd in Norton. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Childern's Hospital, Shriners Children's, or Catholic Charities.
