Anthony W. “Tony” Petry, age 70, of Camden, OH passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He was born December 11, 1951 in Hamilton, OH to Mary Alice (Toschlog) Petry and the late Daniel Petry. Tony was a 1970 graduate of Preble Shawnee High School. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Camden. He took over the family Mulberry Pheasantry business and transitioned it into the Mulberry Pheasantry Hunting Preserve, where he enjoyed teaching youth about hunting and hosting the annual youth hunt. He was a longtime Preble County farmer and local truck driver. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Wilma Petry of Camden; mother Alice Petry of Camden; son Gary Petry of Camden; daughter Joyce (Jason) Poe of Gratis; grandchildren Gabrielle Petry, Tyler Poe and his “little buddy” Treyton Poe; sisters Lois (Dave) Kuhbander of Camden and Velma (Mike) Moore of Camden; several nieces and nephews; and his best hunting friend and birddog “Boomer”. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Visitation Catholic Church, 407 East Main St., Eaton, OH with Father David Doseck officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gratis, OH. Memorial contributions may be sent to Butler County Pheasants Forever, ℅ Dave Abrams, 6461 Buckley Road, Oxford, OH 45056.
