"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Today we celebrate the life of Anthony DeWayne Roberson "Man," who was loved by everyone he met. Anthony had a gentle and sweet spirit. He loved to pray for you and with you every time he would see you. He had an infectious smile and laugh. He went home with the Lord knowing he was loved by his family. One phone call, and Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria was overflowing with his family by his side.
Anthony was born to Sarah Ann Roberson and Tim Cage on May 7, 1972. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah Ann Roberson and Tim Cage; grandparents, Jim Roberson, Catherine Roberson, Clemmie Cage, and Prevelle Cage; two sisters, Felicia Cage and Kimberly Cage; two uncles, Carl Cage and Bo Pepe Cage.
"Man," as he was fondly called, attended Chatham High School in Chatham, Louisiana, where the Principal (Terry Hadden), teachers and students loved and took care of Anthony. Man walked around the school with the principal as if he was the assistant principal. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
He united with Robinson Chapel ME Church in Eros, Louisiana at an early age. After moving to Monroe, he was baptized and united with Calvary Baptist Church in West Monroe where he remained a member until his death.
Early Wednesday morning the angel of silence came and took our beloved Anthony. His precious memories will be lovingly cherished by brothers, Roddrick (Kowanna) Cage of
Monroe, Louisiana, Timothy (Sabrina) Cage of Gonzales, Louisiana and Antquil (Veronica) Cage of Pensacola Florida; aunts, Omer L. Jones (William Jones Sr.), Lois A. Hargrove, Ruby N. French, Johnette Roberson, Jeanette Roberson, Janette Roberson, Kathy (Eddie) Thomas, Helen Wagner and Brenda Jerro; and one uncle, Jimmy L. (Shelia) Roberson. He is also survived by a host of other family members, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
