Obituary of Mr. Anthony G. Sheldon
Mr. Anthony "Tony" George Sheldon, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior January 10, 2024. A private graveside service will be held at Parkway Memorial Gardens.
Tony was born in Richmond, Virginia to the late Dr. Albert J. Sheldon and Mrs. Amelia Hecht Sheldon. Tony dedicated his life to serving his country, community, and his family. He enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1964, working for over 10 years as an Electronic Computer Foreman. He then transferred into the United States Air Force Reserves, working over 16 years. While Tony was enlisted in the military, he and his beloved bride, Patricia enjoyed traveling. Tony also was employed at Hewlett Packard from 1974 until retiring in 2009. After retiring, Tony continued to serve his community as a volunteer firefighter with Centerville Fire Department, EMS for the Houston County, and a volunteer at Houston Healthcare. He could be found on the side lines assisting players during football games as a paramedic for Northside High School. While Tony was not working, he spent time creating duck carvings, decoys, wood turned pens, and building furniture. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, scuba diving, and most importantly, spending time with his beloved family.
Tony is survived by his cherished wife of 58 years, Patricia Ann Sheldon; children: Kimberly Sheldon and William (Carolyn) Sheldon; grandchildren: Justin Sheldon and Jordan Sheldon; siblings: Michael Sheldon, John Sheldon, Charles Sheldon, and Suzanne McCormick; and a host of extended friends and family.
