I cannot believe it has been over a year since we lost our friend. His memory lives on in many hearts including my own. Time doesnt always heal the loss of one that was so special to so many, so as we continue to remember I hope it is with the same level of fondness as the day he left us.....I miss ya Bra...

Tony was a good friend. He was like family. He was family. I might be 11 and might not know that much, but I do know that Tony is missed greatly and everyone will remember him forever. Everyone who knew him will always remember him. I know I will. Tony was a funny and loving person.

To the Tharp family,
Although we all married, moved, had kids, etc...we always had that "Cherry Street Gang" bond. Tearfully watching the slide show at Tony's service, I remembered every stage, especially those Fillmore School shots! On behalf of my family, God Bless all of you, praying for comfort and peace for you now and always.
With Love,

I was so shocked to receive the news of losing my friend and neighbor. We grew up together playing basketball, baseball, football, etc with all the Cherry street kids. I still remember Tony and Troy throwing rocks at us girls when we were roller skating down the block! So many childhood memories and birthday parties all have Tony in the middle of everything. It is hard to believe we won't run into each other and catch up on things. Your family has always had an open door for me and then later for my girls. My heart aches for your family right now. I pray you will be filled with peace as the days pass and find blessings through the solid relationships Tony sustained throughout his life. Lots of love,
Melanie, Angelina and Isabela

I still miss you so much it hurts. I keep waiting to hear your voice or see your face. But I'm starting to understand that that is never going to happen. And it makes my heart ache so badly. I have your Cody boy. I'll take good care of him for you. He's starting to see us as family and our house as his. He's learning what dog food is... instead of tri tip.. :o) We all love him and petting him everyday is just the only way I could think of to not have to let you. I love you Tony. I miss you so much!

Tony I can't believe it's been 3 weeks. I guess I just stayed busy and knew you had my back through it all. You were my bro and I miss you terribly. I still catch myself cooking and turn to ask you something and realize your not there. We had some awesome times together and some tuff ones also but I knew I could always count on you no matter the problem. I don't think cooking will ever be the same but I know you( and your old felt hat)will be with me each and everytime just like old times. I know your in a better place where all the bass are 10lbs plus. the Deer have 30" spreads - with a giant drop horn and the slots are line up a 7's - Merle and hank are singing and life is good. I will do my best to continue on and to help anthony with ball and whatever I can do. I miss you and Love you.

Our family met Tony 2 baseball seasons ago. Tony's nephew Anthony & our son Marty played on the Aztecs together. Tony was always at practice to lend a helping hand with all the boys. He was passionate about the game & was loved by everyone. He eventually became the 3rd coach for the Aztecs. The thing I remember most about Tony was the love he had for his nephew Anthony. I remember seeing Tony driving around town with Anthony at his side & his dog in the back of the truck. Tony has touch many and will live on in our hearts. You are in the thoughts & prayers of the Garnica family.

Tony was many wonderful things. He was a friend to me and many others. He was faithful and loyal. He loved his family so much. The little ones especially. He had such a soft spot for the babies!

Tony and I became friends in such a funny way and it was immediate that were close and stayed that way. Not more than a day or two went by that we didn't talk. We learned from each other. Strengthened each other. Long talks had us cry, laugh and be mad together. .... Honestly I don't know how I'll get by without Tony anymore. He was my everyday blessing. I love and miss him so much. I hope you all will make it through this time of sadness and remember all the many great things Tony brought to us all. My heart and thoughts are with your entire family as I know you all miss him too.

Forever in my thoughts and heart Tony. I won't say goodbye.. saying goodbye means leaving and leaving means forgetting and I will never forget you.

I can't believe it has been a week since you have gone. I must have called your cell phone a millon times this week just to hear your voice. Tharp Family, your son, brother, uncle, husband was a true family man to the end. He loved you all so much. His smile and laugh will forever be in my mind along with his dancing eyes. Lompoc has lost a true treasure. We have all lost a dear friend who would give the shirt off of his back to help out any of us.

Tony and I have been friends since 3rd grade, watched him play all types of baseball and football. Laughed at him when he would wear his tight, tight wranglers in high school. But as an adult I started to notice what a true gentalmen he was. He would never hesitate to move that fishing pole out of the front seat so I could ride in the truck with him. We have had many heartfelt talks to where family and close friends were the subject. Tony started going to church out in the Village, and was working on his faith. When Tony had a tough week during the labor talks at work, he started to rely on prayer. He was a true work in progress who only wanted the best for his family and friends.

I will truly miss you my redneck, I will see you in awhile. Thank you for lettin me be your "Lady Friend"

XXOOXXO,
Mandy

Dick, Vickie, & Family,
With tears I read Tony's obituary and vividly recall the shock and horror of losing my own son--a parent's nightmare! My heart goes out to you and all those who loved Tony so much. I remember him coming over to our house when he was only three and what a little cutie he was! Then around age four or five he would come over nearly every day to play with my daughter and tell me, "I'm going to marry Melanie some day!" He was a darling little boy. Never saw him after his marriage, but it's nice to see how he touched so many hearts in his life. May God strengthen and sustain each of you through His love, Rosemary & Dick

Dear Dick, Vickie and Family,

It is with the greatest of sadness that I write to express my condolences and sympathies to you and your family. I cannot fathom the pain that you feel from the loss of a child and truly hope that you seek solace in the legacy and memories that Tony has left behind for you and all of us that were blessed enough to have him as part of our lives.

Tony and I had become good friends over the years and more recently had been pretty close, talking a few times a week. Tony was always a great friend. The things I learned most about Tony through all these years is that he had a very big heart that was made of gold and was a very generous person when it came to giving to other people. He would help anyone with a second’s notice and would defend the honor of a friend without hesitation.

I miss Tony a lot already. He will always have a special place in my heart as a friend and a confidante, but I also love him like a brother. Tony’s memory will always be in my mind and in my heart and someday when we meet up again I know he will be there with a hug and a beer and that big grin of his.

Dick, Vickie and Family ** My heart just breaks for you at the loss of such a wonderful son. I have the most special memories of him as a five year old standing on my doorstep with a pail asking if he could work his way 'through college' pulling my weeds; just about the cutest kid I ever saw. I also remember him playing in my side yard with friends, war games, cowboys and indians...such a great imagination. You raised a great kid and I know he gave you much joy over the years. I am so deeply sorry for your loss and pray that he is waiting in Heaven to be reunited with you some day. I am not able to be at the service but my heart, my mind and my prayers are with you, as always. Much love to all of you.

Donna, David, and the Tharp Family,

We are so sorry to hear of Tony's passing.

Tony was always so good to our boys, Raymond and Billy. He was a great little league coach. Terry was happy to assist him and Robert DeVaux with the teams. Tony was compassionate, fair, and a true friend.

He will be missed by all of us. We know he is in heaven playing ball and hunting with Ray.

If you see smoke in the sky, don't worry, it is Tony cooking the best BBQ ribs and Tri-Tip, Heaven has ever had!

We will be with you all in prayer on Monday, wish we could be their with you. We are out of state until the first of September.

We will keep you all in our hearts and prayers.

The Lord took home another great guy.
