Anthony DeLeon Barnes, affectionately known as “Tony,” was born on March 8, 1968, in Selma, North Carolina, to Carolyn Barnes-Davis and
Willie Robertson. At the age of 12, Tony accepted Christ and joined New Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. W. M. Giles. He graduated
from Smithfield-Selma Senior High School. After graduation, Tony proudly enlisted in the UnitedStates Army. Following three years of military
service, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked for many years in an auto supply store. When his health began to decline, Tony
returned home to Selma, North Carolina, where he remained close to his family and loved ones.Tony was preceded in death by his brother, Michael
Barnes, and his grandmother, Bell Robertson. He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Barnes- Davis; his father, Willie Robertson; his grandmother,
Cora Barnes-Sneed; his brothers, Reggie Barnes, Kevin Roberts, Steven Roberts, and Willie Roberts Jr.; his life partner of more than 25 years, Pam
Duncan; three aunts, Ann Curtis, Doris Robertson-Brooks, and Jean Robertson; three uncles, Amos Barnes, Bobby Sneed, and Lemon Robertson;
his two sons Anthony and Tyseen Barnes; and five grandchildren. Tonys kindness, loyalty, and warm spirit touched many lives, and he will be deeply
missed by all who knew and loved him.
