Anthony R. Ehlers passed from this life to be with his Lord on August 26, 2024. Tony was born September 3, 1930, the son of Frank and Hilda Ehlers, in Kalamazoo. He was a graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High School, Calvin College, and Western Michigan University. On July 2, 1951, he was married to Betty Jean Roberts, also of Kalamazoo. He served in the US Army, 4th Infantry Division, in Alaska during the Korean War. He was a member of Westwood Christian Reformed Church, where he served as deacon, elder, Sunday School teacher, and on numerous committees. For several years, he worked as a carpenter in home construction. He served the cause of Christian education as a teacher at North Christian school for 31 years. Surviving are his two sons, Steven and Lou Ann Ehlers of Cape Coral, Florida and Ronald and Jeanne Ehlers of Portage, Michigan, along with a daughter, Debra and Tim Gaylor of Hastings, Michigan. Also surviving are seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, mother, father and two brothers. Memorials may be made to the Kalamazoo Christian Schools Foundation. 

Friends may gather with his family on Tuesday, September 3rd, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49009. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 4th, at 12:00 PM, at Westwood Christian Reformed Church, 620 Northampton Road, Kalamazoo, with Pastor Mike Koetje officiating. A private interment will be held at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South.
