70 year old, Anthony ‘Tony’ Sodo III, of DeMotte, passed away June 27, 2025.
On January 15, 1955, Tony was born to Anthony II and Gloria (Bittner) Sodo, in Hammond, Indiana. He married his beloved wife, Jill (Thomas) McKain on October 19, 2019 at the Edinburgh United Methodist Church. Tony worked as a machinist in tool and die at Hadaday Industries of East Chicago, Illinois. He loved flying and building model airplanes, and was a member of the Lowell Flying Club, AMA. Tony enjoyed fishing, camping with family, bowling, and playing chess.
Tony is survived by his loving wife: Jill, children: Tracie (Daniel) Moldenhauer, Joshua (Samantha) Sodo, Hannah (John) Murphy, Leah Sodo, Joel Sodo, step-children: Shawn (Lisa) McKain, Ryan (Adrianna) McKain, grandchildren: Danny, Isabella, Ellie Moldenhauer, step-grandchildren: Thomas, Marymae, Amelia McKain, siblings: William Sodo, Kathleen (Kenneth) Spiwak, Terese (Ronald) Maginot, James (Melissa) Sodo, Philip (Cheryl) Sodo, mother-in-law: Eileen Thomas, and many nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents.
Per Tony’s wishes cremation will take place.
A Celebration of Life for Tony will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the DeMotte United Methodist Church, 227 N Halleck St., DeMotte, IN 46310 with Pastor Gaylynn Dykman officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to cancer research of your choice.
