Anthony “Sonny” J. Vincequere, 87, of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Care One in Millbury. His wife, Phyllis “Sue” (Cocker) Vincequere, predeceased him in June 2002.
Anthony is survived by a son, Thomas A. Vincequere and his wife Rachel, a daughter, Nicole A. Vincequere and her fiancé Mark St. Germain, all of Millbury; three sisters, Joyce M. Zadroga, Rose Marie Belsito, both of Worcester and Elizabeth M. Scano of Sutton; five grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas, Nathan, Gianna, and Bianca; many nieces and nephews. Anthony was born in Worcester, son of the late, Thomas L. and Marie T. (Patruno) Vincequere, he graduated from Commerce High School and has lived here all his life. He served his nation proudly in the Army National Guard.
Anthony worked as a machinist at Norton Company for thirty-five years, before retiring. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He enjoyed Myrtle Beach, where he could partake in a comfortable round of golf. He was delighted to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events activities and was their biggest fan.
He cherished his coffee and newspaper at the cemetery for twenty-three years, rarely missing a day, as this brought comfort being with his beloved wife.
Calling Hours will be on Wednesday, February 26, from 4 pm until 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be on Thursday, February 27, with a procession departing the funeral home at 9:40 am in procession to a 10 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Interment beside his wife will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
