Anthony Wesson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 28, 2025.
Anthony Ernest "Tony" Wesson, 82, passed away peacefully at home on April 9, 2025, in Cocoa Beach, Florida. His family is grateful to his caregivers and the St. Frances Hospice team for the excellent care he received during his battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Born on January 17, 1943, in Godshill, Isle of Wight, England, Tony pursued a distinguished career in engineering. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of London and became a Royal Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (M.I.E.E.).

Tony's professional journey took him across England, Scotland, South Africa, and Saudi Arabia before he moved to the United States in 1980. He joined Westinghouse's Power Generation division, which later became Siemens Power Corporation. Rising through the ranks, he ultimately served as Senior Service Sales and Marketing Manager for North Asia before retiring in 2006. Among his achievements were two U.S. patents related to Combustion Turbine Rotors.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane; sons Richard Wesson, Paul Wesson (Julie), and Karl Wesson; daughter Elizabeth Wesson (Rob Roden); step-son Jeff Nicholas (Lyndsey); and step-daughter Jolene Nicholas; grandchildren Elena Newman, Lilah Nicholas, Elias Nicholas, Dusty Graham, Rhys Roden, and Richard Wesson Jr.; his Siamese cat, Monty and former wife, Carol Bouchard, the mother of his children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Elizabeth Monica Wesson.

Tony had a lifelong passion for British sports cars and enjoyed restoring them. He also found joy in beach walks near his Cocoa Beach home and collected stamps, UK and US coins, and ceramic pigs. He followed the stock market with great interest.

Tony's faith played a significant role throughout his life which provided him strength, peace and purpose. Over the years he was active in Riverside Presbyterian Church, St. David's Episcopal Church, and Cocoa Beach Community Church where he served in leadership roles.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, 2:30 PM at the Cocoa Beach Community Church, 126 S. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach, FL 32931. Interment will be in the Memorial Garden at Riverside Presbyterian Church for family only prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials or donations may be made to St. Frances Hospice, The Parkinson's Foundation or one of the above churches.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him and serve as an enduring reminder of a life well lived.
