Anthony Vincent "Tony" Winig

I have known Tony since 1969. There are so many stories! My favorite is one from our time as Indoctrination Officers at SUNY Maritime College. Four of us (Winig, Wills, Wolak & Wiegand) had a section (4E1). One night we all needed to get off campus. We approached another Indoctrination Officer and asked him to drill our section that evening. The Chief Indoctrination Officer overheard our conversation and threatened to take our ribbons. Tony responded "Well you can´t take mine". The Chief Indoctrination Officer, incensed, said "Why not?". Tony responded "Because I lost it"

The picture below (circa 1977) shows Tony, when he visited us in Stevensville, MI, reading The Night Before Christmas to our Indian statue- Kayenta. A few beers may have been involved.
