Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wright Memorial Mortuary - Rome on Mar. 1, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Anthony Clyde Wright, who passed away on March 1, 2025, in Rome, at the age of 65. Born to Wilbert and Betty Ann Wright, on January 11, 1960, Anthony was a beloved brother, and son, leaving behind a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Anthony is survived by his daughter, Antonia Collins; his sister, Betty Wright Higley (Donny Higley); and his brothers, Roger L. Wright (Dawn Wright) and Vernon Smith. He is also mourned by his extended family and friends.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Betty Wright; spouse, Dora Collins Wright; and his brothers, James L. Long, Jerry L. Wright, and Gregory E. Long.
Known for his loving heart and comical spirit, Anthony touched the lives of many with his warmth and humor. He was a loving and caring sibling and a loyal friend. Throughout his life, Anthony caught on quickly and worked well with his hands, displaying a natural talent for understanding complex tasks and mastering them with ease. His ability to grasp new concepts swiftly allowed him to take on challenges without hesitation. Whether it was home improvement tasks, detailing cars, repairing items, or crafting something from scratch, his hands seemed to move with purpose and precision. His attention to detail and ability to problem-solve on the spot made him a jack of all trades. Not only did he possess a sharp mind, but his practical skills were also evident in his persistence, determination and confidence when handling tools or materials. It was clear that his craftsmanship was more than just a skill-it was a gift, one that allowed him to turn ideas into reality effortlessly.
His memory will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wright Memorial Chapel.
