Antionette Racicot Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gifford Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Richmond from Jan. 22 to Jan. 23, 2026.
Antoinette Racicot was born November 14,1937 and passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 7th 2026 at the age of 88. She was surrounded by family. She was preceded by her husband Alphonse Racicot who passed in August of 2002. They are finally together again and dancing in heaven. She is survived by her sons Francis and Edward Racicot, daughter Denise Racicot, and her 4 grandchildren Jessica and Stacey Racicot, Alex and Bryce Angelino, great grandson Everett and her extended family in the USA and Canada. She was 1 of 13 children who grew up in Nicolet Canada. She attended the Covenant boarding school where she consumed every drop of knowledge given to her. As a devout Catholic her dedication to God and the church was unwavering. She attended masses at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she regularly practiced her faith.

She came to the USA in 1959 with her sister Gisele. That is when she met her husband Alphonse Racicot they shared a beautiful love story with many movie nights, drives and dinners with friends and family. In January of 1960 they were married and started their family. They moved around a few times when the kids were young but finally made Vermont their home in late 1970's.

During their time in Vermont they rebuilt a house in Jericho and turned it into a beautiful home. This is where they raised their children and grandchildren. Antoinette took great care in creating many flower gardens surrounding the house over the years. She had a special magic in her and was always so authentic. Her gardens were a glimpse into the magic she carried, as they always had a whimsy to them. There were many varieties of flowers and flowy trees that lined the various paths. It truly felt like something out of a fairy tale. Their home, the gardens and the brook became the central meeting place for family over the years. Whether it was the Sunday morning breakfasts after church, Wednesday night dinners or afternoons by the brook; with here there it always felt like home. She will be truly missed by all who loved her. We will miss her sweet welcome homes, big bear hugs with a pat on the back, her sassy remarks, and the never-ending love that she had for all of us. Her heart was 10 miles too big, her goodness awe inspiring, and she was so selfless. She would give you her last dollar if she thought it would make you smile, even if you were a complete stranger. Her level of compassion and love were never failing. If she knew you she loved you; and you were lucky to know her.

Services will be held in the spring at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Richmond, Vermont. Details to follow.
