Antoinetta Davide Obituary
Antonietta Davide, age 88, of Canton passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023 after a brief illness. She was born on August 27, 1935 in Goriano Valli, Italy. She later worked in Milan in a factory to help support her brothers after her parents passed away. Antonietta came to America in 1960 and her passion was taking care of her family and babysitting her thirteen grandchildren. She instilled her work ethic to her children and grandchildren the importance of family and friends gathering around her kitchen table. Antonietta devoted her time to her family, friends, and her garden and imparted her Italian tradition of homemade wine, sauce and Sunday family dinners. She was the cornerstone of our family values. Preceded in death by her husband, Luigi, with whom they were married at a mountainside church wedding in Italy 65 years ago. She is preceded in death by her parents, Franco and Anna Spallacci,. Her father-in-law and mother-in- law Anthony and Emilia Davide of Goriano Valli, Italy, her brother Pasquale Spallacci, brother- in-law Frank Davide of Canton, (Sam) and Rosalie Ianni, (Paul-Chubs) and Louise Clayton, and Anthony Capaldi. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Franca and Jerome Testa of Uniontown, sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Vickie Davide of Massillon, John and Gretchen Davide of Massillon, Joe and Sherri Davide of Canton. Antonietta is survived by thirteen grandchildren; Nina (Cody Boyce) and Nicholas Testa; Marc (Courtney), Danny, Mary, Elizabeth and Jason Davide; Jessica (Jason Makrinos) and Eric (Dominque) Davide; Joseph, Mathew, Maria, and Jacob Davide. Survived by four great-grand children Giavanna of Nina and Cody Boyce; Mason and Maya of Jessica and Jason Makrinos; Isla of Eric and Dominique Davide; and two on the way of Maria Davide (Parker), and of Jason and Jessica Makrinos. Survived by brother Bruno Spallacci, of Goriano Valli, Italy. Survived by nephews and nieces, Joe and (Theresa) Davide, Joe and (Patti) Capaldi, (Lee) and Amelia DeBias, Fernanda Capaldi, Danny and Marina Trombetta, Annalisa Spallacci, Franco and Fabrizio Spallacci and numerous cousins both here and in Italy, and very close paisan (friends). Viewing will be Friday, November 24th at Saint Joan of Arc Church from 9 to 10:45 a.m. with the Funeral Mass immediately following at 11:00am. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery immediately following the funeral. The family would like to thank Dr. Louis Shaheen, her caretakers especially Sissie, Denise, and Tricia and St. Luke Lutheran Home for their warmth and kindness shown to 'Nona'.
