Antoinette DeLucia Bryant, affectionately known as Anne or Nettie, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, just days before her 97th birthday. Her life was filled with love, resilience, and joy, and her memory will continue to be a blessing to all who knew her. She is lovingly remembered by her son, John Anthony Bryant, Sr., his wife Karen, and their children John Anthony Jr., Danielle Nicole (Fiancé, Christian Centi), and Kyle Scott. She also leaves behind her cherished sister, Rosemarie Serignese of Ithaca, NY, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, their spouses, children, and grandchildren, each touched by her warmth, wisdom, and gentle presence. Born on November 25, 1928, in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey, Anne found her "happy place" in the summers spent there at the beach with her parents, sisters, and grandparents. These joyful memories remained a constant source of comfort and delight throughout her life. A dedicated student, Anne graduated as valedictorian of her high school in Queens, NY, before building an 18-year career in Manhattan's financial district. A pioneer for women in her field, she became a licensed insurance broker at a time when few women held that distinction. Anne met the love of her life, John Joseph Bryant, at a dance-a moment she fondly described as "love at first sight." They married within the year and shared forty-seven wonderful years together, living in Queens, NY; Plainview, NY; and Arnold, MD, until John's passing in 2009. A woman of deep faith, Anne was a faithful Catholic and an active member of St. John the Evangelist in Severna Park, MD, where she belonged to the Catholic Daughters and taught religious education. Later, she attended Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Eldersburg whenever she was able. She was also a devoted caregiver, offering loving support to her parents and spouse, and volunteering at several community facilities. Though she often described herself as an introvert, Anne radiated kindness, compassion, and quiet strength. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and steadfast love left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She lived her years with grace, humor, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Anne will be dearly missed-but her family takes comfort in knowing she is now dancing once again with her beloved John and will always know that she "loved us more." The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff and caregivers at Fairhaven/ACTS Assisted Living, whose outstanding care and kindness supported Anne so beautifully in her final years. As Anne was an avid reader until losing her eyesight-and later a listener of books on tape-the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National Library Service for the Blind. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, December 5, beginning at 11 a.m. at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 6416 Sykesville Road,
Sykesville, MD 21784.
