It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Antoinette "Annette" Simone Pantera, 97, of Wallingford, formerly of West Haven, beloved wife of the late Dominic Pantera, a beloved matriarch who departed this life on January 16, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Loving mother of Donna Heins of Prospect and Dr. Robert (Debbie) Pantera of Branford. Grandmother of Greg (Melissa) Heins, Lindsey (Anthony) Fiondella, Mike (Lara) Heins and Dr. Brett Pantera. Great-grandmother of Mackenzie, Emerson, Grayson, Mason, Kelsey and Ryder. Sister of the late Rose Smith, Cosmina "Cosi" D'Andrea, Mary Civitello and Leo, Vito "Chucko" and Saverio "Solly" Simone. Annette was born in New Haven on July 8, 1927, daughter of the late Giacomo and Paula Bruno Simone. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Standard Paint and Wallpaper. Annette was a pillar of strength and love for her family and community. A strong-willed and independent woman, Annette was known for her persuasive nature and unwavering opinions, always standing firm in her beliefs. Her fun-loving spirit and hard-working demeanor were evident in all aspects of her life, from her dedication in providing every opportunity for her family to succeed and making sure family gatherings occurred and were filled with warmth and fun. Family was the cornerstone of Annette's life. Her legacy of love, resilience, and joy will continue to inspire all who knew her. Annette's memory will forever remain in our hearts, a testament to a life well lived and a woman deeply loved.
Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 830 Jones Hill Road, West Haven, TUESDAY morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John XXIII Parish at St. Louis Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
