Antonino "Tony" Costa, a beloved figure to many, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024, in Cypress, Texas, at the age of 67. Born on February 10, 1957, in Toronto, Canada, Tony was known for his warm personality and his unwavering dedication to family and friends.
Tony spent an impressive 32 years working at Savoy Medical Center, where he retired with a wealth of experience and numerous friendships formed throughout his career. His commitment to helping others extended beyond his professional life; Tony was renowned for being the first to lend a hand when someone was in need. He never met a stranger, embodying a caring nature that endeared him to everyone who knew him.
After living in Opelousas, Louisiana for over 35 years, when Tony retired, him and Stacey moved to Cypress, Texas.
Deeply devoted to his children and grandchildren, Tony's love for his family was unmatched. His legacy is one of unconditional love and support, remembered fondly by those whose lives he touched.
In his leisure time, Tony found joy in various hobbies. He had a passion for golf and a flair for cooking, bringing friends and family together around the dinner table. LSU sports were also a source of happiness for him, and he derived great pleasure from the simple act of grocery shopping, often seen as a recreational activity rather than a chore.
Tony Costa will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit, kindness, and dedication to family will continue to inspire those left behind.
Tony is survived by his wife of 33 years, Stacey Costa; his sons, Matthew Francis Costa, James Anthony Costa, Alexander Christian Costa and Francesco ‘Ross” Costa; his grandchildren, Cooper Anthony Costa and Holland Rosa Costa; his brother, Vince Costa and his wife, Dina; his sister, Teresa Costa Turano and her husband, Giovanni; and a host of other family members and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Pasquale Costa and Rosa Di Renzo Costa.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning at 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A rosary will follow until 12:30 p.m.
