Antonio "Billy" Covarrubias August 4, 1950 – July 14, 2025
Antonio "Billy" Covarrubias of Clarkston, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2025, at the age of 74.
Born on August 4, 1950, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Antonio and Jean Covarrubias, Billy spent his entire life in the Clarkston community. A proud graduate of Clarkston High School, Class of 1968, he was known for his strong work ethic and servant's heart.
Billy held several roles over the years, including working as a bookkeeper for the City of Pontiac and later serving as the Director of the Waterford Christian Association (an extension of Mt Zion Church)-a place that meant a great deal to him. A devoted man of God, he lived out his faith through service, family, and love.
In October 1972, Billy married the love of his life, Sheri, in Clarkston. Together they built a beautiful life centered around family, faith, and fellowship. He was an avid race car enthusiast and a passionate NASCAR fan. He even raced his own car, #70, around local tracks, a hobby that brought him great joy and lifelong friendships.
Billy is survived by his beloved children: Amy, Jodie, Sara, and Tony; his cherished siblings: Jeanne (Guy) Cagle, Loren (Bonnie) Covarrubias, Kim Covarrubias, Roberta (Brad) Rice, Jesse Covarrubias, Pamela Covarrubias, and Joni Covarrubias. He was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Matthew.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with a visitation beforehand at 9:45 AM in the Main Auditorium at Mt. Zion Church, 4900 Maybee Rd., Clarkston, MI 48348.
