Antonio Rodrigues da Silva., age 85, of Shelton, entered into rest on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Maefair Health Care Center, Trumbull. He was the devoted husband of Maria Judite da Silva. He was born in Montalegre, Portugal on March 3, 1936 son of the late Antonio and Olinda (Rodrigues da Cruz) da Silva and was one of twelve children. He came to the United States from Brazil in 1980, lived in Bridgeport, and then settled in Shelton. Antonio worked in construction for many years prior to his retirement. Upon his retirement he returned to Portugal, then came back to Shelton eight years ago. He enjoyed spending time fishing, taking lots of walks with his little dog and being with his family.
He is the beloved father of Antonio Anibal Rodrigues da Silva and his wife Helena and Berta Goncalves and her husband Antonio. Loving grandfather of five cherished grandchildren, Danny Goncalves (Lauren), Kevin Goncalves (Danielle), Lyann M. Goncalves, Diana da Silva Altobelli, and Michael da Silva, eight great-grandchildren, Marcello Altobelli, Chistiano Altobelli, Khloe Ann Goncalves, Dante Goncalves, Koby Goncalves, Carolina Goncalves, Gavin Goncalves and Quinn Goncalves. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a cherished granddaughter, Ashley Marie Goncalves,
His funeral will be private at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Online condolences can be left for his family at www.riverviewfh.com.
