Aole Blackman-Wright Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hughes Funeral Home, LLC - Trenton on Oct. 18, 2024.
Aole "Mookey" Blackman-Wright, a beloved son, brother, and friend, was born on July 19, 1970, in Trenton, New Jersey, to Ira Blackmon and the late Gladys Wright. On October 10, 2024, Mookey's vibrant spirit left this earth, leaving behind a legacy of joy, warmth, and love that will never fade. His infectious smile was his signature-if you saw Mookey he was smiling.Mookey's early education took him through various school districts, including Trenton, NJ; Americus, GA; and Philadelphia, PA.
He was known for his fearless heart and a passion for life that was larger than words can express. His love for music and entertainment ran deep, a gift that seemed to flow through his veins from his family's roots in Blackman's Boutique. Whether it was old-school soul or the latest hits, Mookey always had the perfect soundtrack playing. He carried himself with confidence, dressing sharply for every occasion, ensuring his style matched his joyful spirit.A proud and lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mookey embraced the black and yellow with unwavering loyalty, no matter the score. Another passion of his was dirt biking. From a young age, Mookey was about that "bike life," riding with the same thrill and excitement that he brought to every aspect of his life.Mookey's heart belonged to his mother, Gladys, whom he adored beyond measure.
He affectionately named himself "Glady Boy," a title that symbolized the unbreakable bond between them. Somewhere in Camden, NJ, the name "Glady Boy" is carved into a tree, a testament to the love he carried for her.One of the most special connections in Mookey's life was with his beloved cat, Mango. More than a pet, Mango was his best friend-his "son." Their bond was undeniable, and anyone who knew Mookey knew how deeply he loved Mango.Mookey's love for family was boundless. If you needed him, he showed up-no questions asked. He gave his best to everyone around him, offering help, love, and laughter whenever it was needed. His kind heart, radiant smile, and love for life will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Through every challenge, Mookey faced life head-on, catching whatever it threw his way and throwing it right back.
Preceding Mookey in death are his mother, Gladys Wright; maternal grandparents, Robert & Alberta Wright Sr.; paternal grandparents, Ira B. Blackmon and Elizabeth Finn; his uncle, Charles Christie; and uncles Robert Jr. and Calvin Wright. He is also predeceased by his siblings Yvette Wright, Simone Christie, Amina Blackmon, and Ibrahim M. Blackman.
