In Loving Memory of Apolonia “Polita” Diaz Alvarado 1968 – 2025

 Apolonia “Polita” Diaz Alvarado, age 57, passed away surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Rioverde, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, Polita made her home in Austin, Texas, where she built a life full of love, warmth, and generosity. 

Polita was a devoted wife to her loving husband of nearly 40 years, a caring mother to her three daughters, and a proud grandmother to her four grandsons and one granddaughter. Family was at the center of her world, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting those she loved most. 

Known for her kind heart and welcoming spirit, Polita had a gift for making everyone feel at home. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, going to church, and spending quality time with her husband. Her laughter, compassion, and selflessness touched countless lives, and she will be remembered for the light she brought into every room. 

Though her time with us feels far too short, Polita’s legacy of love will continue to live on through her family and the many people whose lives she brightened. 

Her family and friends will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

En Memoria de Apolonia “Polita” Díaz Alvarado 1968 – 2025 Apolonia “Polita” Díaz Alvarado, de 57 años, falleció rodeada de sus seres queridos. Nacida en Ríoverde, San Luis Potosí, México, Polita hizo su hogar en Austin, Texas, donde construyó una vida llena de amor, calidez y generosidad. Polita fue una esposa devota de su amado esposo, con quien compartió casi 40 años de vida, una madre cariñosa de tres hijas y una orgullosa abuela de cuatro nietos y una nieta. Su familia era el centro de su mundo, y dedicó su vida a cuidar y apoyar a quienes más amaba. Conocida por su gran corazón y su espíritu acogedor, Polita tenía el don de hacer que todos se sintieran en casa. Disfrutaba tejer, cocinar, asistir a la iglesia y pasar tiempo de calidad con su esposo. Su risa, compasión y generosidad tocaron innumerables vidas, y será recordada por la luz que llevaba a cada lugar al que iba. Aunque su tiempo con nosotros fue demasiado corto, el legado de amor de Polita seguirá vivo a través de su familia y de todas las personas cuyas vidas iluminó. Su familia y amigos llevarán por siempre su recuerdo en el corazón.

Serving with Grace and Honor as Pallbearers are David Guerrero, Gabriel Guerrero, Gustavo Rosas, Alejandro Rosas, Marco Ledesma, and Ruben Guerrero.

Apolonia Diaz Alvarado will lie in state at the family residence on Wednesday, October 22nd, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Christian Funeral Mass will be conducted at Saint Julia Catholic Church, Thursday, October 23rd, at 11:00 AM.  A Christian Burial will follow at Elgin Latin Cemetery.
