April Hilton Obituary

Published by Legacy on May 28, 2025.
April L. Hilton, 70, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully at her home on February 1, 2025. Born in Sanford on March 31, 1954, she was one of twelve children born to Louis and Edna (Thompson) Colby. Her family moved to Waterboro when she was a small child, where she grew up and attended local schools, graduating from Noble High School.
April was a hardworking and dedicated woman, holding several jobs throughout her life. She spent many years employed at Thompson Center Arms, where she worked diligently until her retirement. In her free time, she found joy in crocheting, often creating beautiful pieces that she lovingly gifted to family and friends.
A quiet and kind-hearted woman, April enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She cherished her time spent at home with her loved ones and found great joy in going for rides with her niece. Above all else, she was a loving and devoted mother who always put her family first. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
April is survived by her son, Norman Hilton, and his wife, Ann, of Lebanon; her grandson, Calib Hilton, of Lebanon; her brother, Edward Colby, of Lebanon; her sister, Katherine Ruel, of North Berwick; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale. A graveside service will take place in the spring at Forest Grove Cemetery in Lebanon, with a date to be announced.
Arrangements are under the direction of Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home in Springvale.
April's kindness and love will remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
