MEXICO, NY - With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved April Violet LaPage, age 85, of
Mexico, NY in her home on April 2, 2025. April was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a wonderful woman to all those who had the pleasure to make her acquaintance. April was born April 10, 1939 in Palermo, NY to the late Charles Raymond and Viola Raymond (Smith). April attended Mexico Academy where she met her husband Donald LaPage and the two were married in 1958. April lived a life filled with love, faith, and generosity. She dedicated her life to her family, always putting others before herself and making everyone feel cherished whether through her comforting presence, her words of encouragement, or the meals she lovingly prepared. She created a home where love and laughter flourished.
April is pre-deceased by her husband Donald LaPage; her sons Donald (Helen) LaPage and Dennis (MaryAnne) LaPage; her grandson Joey LaPage and her brother Harry Raymond.
She is survived by her children Rick (Jennifer) LaPage, Susan (John) Powers, John LaPage, and Bob (Terra) LaPage; her grandchildren Donald LaPage, Matthew Butler, Michael Butler, Melanie Drake, Marshall Butler, Mark Butler, Jeffrey LaPage, Stephanie (Rachel) Castiglia, Alexandra LaPage, Ricky LaPage, Tyler LaPage, Erica (Eric Hilton) LaPage, Dillon (Alisha Stevens) LaPage, Derrick (Ali) LaPage, Ashley (Randall) Lawton Converse, Joshua (Tonya Conley) Lawton, Joseph Powers, Emily Powers, John LaPage Jr, Melinda Sue LaPage, Carter Brogan, Trey Otting, Miyah Erkan, Austin Goss, Donovan Goss, Connor LaPage, Grace Powless, Chelsie LaPage, James Powless, and Cole LaPage. She is also survived by many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings Holly (Frank) Whiting, Patricia (Harry) Stephenson, Charles (Helen) Raymond, Ernie (Debbie) Raymond, and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service to Celebrate April's life will be held at 12 p.m. Noon on Monday, April 7, 2025 from Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Washington Avenue,
Mexico, NY. Burial will be immediately following in New Haven Rural Cemetery, 4233 NY-104, New Haven. Relatives and Friends are invited to a Calling Hour from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
Following the burial, A Celebration of Life honoring April and her amazing impact on the lives of many will be held from 2pm-6pm at Mexico VFW located at 5930 Scenic Ave, Mexico NY. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to the Oswego Children's Fund in honor of her dedication to nurturing and caring for the children in her life.
