APRIL'S LIFE STORY
April Lamar Moore (Yeldell) was born in Corsicana, Texas to Raymond C. Yeldell and Emma G. Yeldell on January 20, 1951. At a young age, she confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. she was most recently a member of Antioch missionary Baptist Church in Fort Worth.
April received her high school diploma from I.M. Terrell High school in Fort Worth, where she was voted homecoming football sweetheart. She received a license in cosmetology, and years later received an Associates Degree in Business Accounting. With a heart for helping others, April received a certificate for volunteer work at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
April had her first and only child Denise LaShun Yeldell on October 3, 1968. She married the love of her life Willie James Moore on December 30, 1970, and they lived happily together until he went home to be with the Lord. She was a true lover of animals, affectionately owning fish, dogs, birds, and a cat throughout the years.
On November 24, 2025, April lost her battle to cancer and closed her eyes on the day of her beloved, deceased husband's birthday.
April was preceded in death by her husband, Willie James "Jabo" Moore, her father Raymond C. Yeldell and her stepdaughter Debbra Ann Moore. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her daughter Denise LaShun Bruce (Michael), stepson Eric Dunn, her mother Emma G Yeldell, sister June Roland-Ray (George), brother Byron Yeldell, grandchildren Merica Mitchell (Montrail Sr.) and Ebone Ford, great grandchildren Montrail Jr., Maddox, Melia, Mackenzie, Mason, Makai and Maverick; nieces Secret, Deann, Promise, Charde, Marquela and Pashence; nephews Cedric, Michael, George and Raymond.
