April Laneah Obregon, 58, left this life on August 6, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones after a short, terminal illness. She was born on January, 16, 1966 in Abilene, Texas. After high school, she pursued a career in nursing, and obtained a Master's degree in Oriental Medicine, with Acupuncture. She had a long career serving others for 40 years as a Registered Nurse.
Her hobbies included reading, traveling, knitting, and gardening with her husband, Carlos. They were married in 2009 in Driftwood, Texas. She enjoyed their days together laughing, as well as working together, most recently at the State Hospital in Kerrville. She is missed by many colleagues and friends. She and Carlos enjoyed traveling to beach getaways, and fishing together, with a dream of retiring near the coast.
April is survived by her husband, Carlos, of Fredericksburg; brother, John David and wife, Marites of New Braunfels; daughters, Sarah and husband Damian of Fort Worth, Colleen and husband Shawn of New Braunfels, Audry and husband Matt of Austin; and one grandson and one granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her son, Caeden in 2012.
In lieu of flowers, live plants and donations can be made for a Memorial Garden.

April was the main RN on unit 3D on the night shift at Kerrville State Hospital and as such, she was my RN. As a PNA, I relied on April for many things in my nightly duties and she made the shifts go smoothly and quickly through her management skills. I am devistated by her passing. So sudden and so young and such a beautiful and caring soul. She is being missed by all our patients, who came to know her as a very knowledgeable and caring RN. She created a milieu of trust and care for our patients. I am missing her terribly.
