April Shuffler

     April Denise McCracken Shuffler, 42, of Morganton, passed away, Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Duke University Hospital in Durham.

 

     April was born in Hickory, NC, on April 13, 1982, to Dennis Joel McCracken and Cynthia Dianne Ray McCracken. She was married to her husband of 23 years, Robert “Jason” Shuffler. April was an avid reader and was very fun to be around. She devoted her life to her children. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, and aunt, who will be greatly missed. 

 

     She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Joseph McCracken and Minnie McCracken.     

 

     Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jason Shuffler; her mother, Cynthia McCracken; her father, Dennis McCracken; three children, Leah McCracken, Tanner Shuffler, and Kerrianna Hendrickson; three sisters, Malinda Burleson (Christopher), Caitlyn Kovvuri (Nani), and Cortney McCracken; a brother, Mark Wayne Day, Jr.; her maternal grandparents, Howard Ray and Shirley Ray Collins; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

     A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
