Arbutus Myrtle Rogers Westmoreland (Beauty) was born September 13, 1941, to Robert and Alberta Rogers (nee Stinson) in Milwaukee, WI. She was the second child born to that union, arriving nearly 10 years after her older sister Marjorie Ann Rogers.
Beauty was devout to the Catholic faith and completed her elementary through high school education at St. Benedict The Moor Catholic Parish’s schools where she graduated high school in 1959. Shortly after graduating from High School, Arbutus met her husband and life partner of 66 years Joseph (Ronnie) Westmoreland; they were joined in holy matrimony on August 8, 1959. Beauty worked in retail jewelry sales for Gimbels, later sold to Marshall Fields, at the downtown Milwaukee location 25 years before retiring in 1997, to help care for her mother. On Tuesday October 21, 2025, Arbutus M. Westmoreland, was taken home by her lord and savior, Jesus Christ, to be with God. Beauty was eighty-four years old and was preceded in death by parents, Robert T. and Alberta E. Rogers and her sisters Victoria R. Lynch and Marjorie A. Stribling. She leaves to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy: four children, Darryl R. Westmoreland, Edwin L. (Kimberly) Westmoreland, Cynthia V. Drake, and Sheila A. Westmoreland; sisters Veronica (Rev. Odell) Carter, Janice (Leroy) Jones, and Adrienne Vance; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a multitude of foster children, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Arbutus Westmoreland on Saturday 11/15 in Tomball, Texas and Milwaukee, Wisconsin and will be live streamed via Facebook. The visitation will begin at 11:00am CST and the Celebration Service will begin at 12:00pm CST. Additional venue and Facebook details will be provided shortly.
