Archie T Johnson

1964 - 2024

Archie T. Johnson, lovingly known as Pete, was born October 27, 1964, in Decatur, Illinois. He was the sixth child of Essie (Dennis) Johnson and Johnnie Johnson. Pete transitioned to his heavenly home on January 15, 2024, surrounded by family and friends.
Pete had a very loving and giving heart. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
Pete received his formal education from Decatur Public schools. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at North Side Baptist Church in Decatur, Il. Pete later relocated to Dallas, Texas where he worked for Chevron for twenty plus years. He also lovingly assisted in helping his cousins raise their children to adulthood. Pete loved family time and would go out of his way for his family. Birthdays were his favorite, celebrating with each and everyone and picking out the perfect gifts. He was always there to show support and lend a listening ear. Pete's laughs were contagious to everyone around him and he especially enjoyed joking with his nieces and nephews.
In 2020, Pete relocated to be closer to his siblings in Rineyville, Ky where he was employed with Circle K Corporation until his untimely departure. Pete loved his job and the ability to brighten all his customers' days.
Pete's warm and loving spirit will live on within his family and friends. Pete leaves to cherish three God sons whom he adored and loved as his own; Tyler, Charles, and Malik all of Dallas, Texas. Five brothers that he loved unconditionally; George Dennis of Decatur, Il, Johnnie Dennis, Rickey Dennis, Rodger Dennis and Stanley Johnson all of Rineyville, Ky. Three sisters to whom he helped raise; Thinia Johnson, Keyonna Bryant of Nashville, Tn and Coreatha Johnson of Decatur, Il and one bonus mom; Betty Wiggins of Decatur, Il who was always one call away, a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who he cherished dearly.
Pete was greeted in glory by his parents, brothers, Darren Johnson and Ivory Dennis, and a host of aunts and uncles.
Special Thanks to Baptist Hospital, University of Louisville Hospital ICU staff, family and friends for all of your support, love and prayers sent our way.
