Archie Lewis Skaggs, son of the late Lewis and Zina (Curtner) Skaggs, was born December 19, 1929, in Bendavis, Missouri. He passed away November 8, 2024, at his home north of Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 94 years, 10 months, and 20 days of age.

Archie was united in marriage to Lola Marie Middleton June 28, 1951. One daughter, Phylis Jean, was born to this union. Archie became a Christian at an early age. He attended Calvary Temple Church for many years. In his late years, he attended Dawson Assembly of God.

Archie and Lola were a team. You seldom saw one without the other during their lifetime together. Archie enjoyed farming and fishing, telling his stories and building. He built well over 100 homes and built and/or remodeled seven churches.

He loved his family, especially his grandkids, and his friends very much. If he ever knew you, you can be assured your name was lifted up in his prayers.

Besides his parents, Archie was preceded in death by his wife, Lola, in 2019, five sisters, Viola Hensley, Iva Sowersby, Mary Letterman, Bertha Hutsell, and Dorothy Skaggs, and one brother, Ira Skaggs.

He is survived by his daughter, Phylis Jean Cobb and her husband, Denny, of Mountain Grove, two grandchildren, Jodi Lyman and her husband, Sean, of Springfield, Missouri, and Derrick Sherrell of Mountain Grove, two step-granddaughters, Lindsay McCormick and her husband, Bryan, of Danville, Indiana, and Terah Pfeffer and her husband, Robert, of Avon, Indiana, five step-great-grandchildren, and many friends who will certainly miss him.
