Ardes A. Edmonds

Ardes “Sarge” Ann Edmonds, age 84, of Ripon, WI, passed away at home on Monday, May 12, 2025 after a short, courageous battle with cancer.

Ardes was born on March 21, 1941 in Pickett, WI, daughter of Oscar and Edith (Radke) Zimmerman. After school she went on to work various jobs over the years in the Ripon and Green Lake areas, including the Ripon Pickle Co., the Republican House, the Goose Blind, Stockyards and Country Cafe. She was also a hard working wife, and most importantly, a loving mother to her children. On September 17, 1988 she married Ken Edmonds in Ripon. Ardes enjoyed playing pool in a women’s pool league and had a passion for cooking and baking. She will be missed by her husband, family, many friends, and her little Shihtzu, Princess, who she loved very much.

Ardes is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Ken Edmonds; children, Vanessa (Kevin) Verdine, Vance (Lori) Malzhan, and Vicki (Joel) White; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Doris Zimmerman and Rosemarie Parnell; a brother-in-law, Robert Edmonds; many nieces; nephews; and friends including a very special friend, Beverly Rivera. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Edith Zimmerman; a daughter, Valerie Malzhan; a son, Verlin Malzhan; brother, Arden Zimmerman; sister, Beryl Wrzinski; in-laws, Marvin and Joanne Edmonds; and a sister-in-law, Judy Edmonds.

Visitation for Ardes will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 6:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral service for Ardes will be held at 6:30 pm on Monday, May 19, 2025 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, with Pastor Kimberly Stowell officiating. A celebration of life will also take place at a later date; place and time to be determined. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Rasmussen and the ThedaCare Hospice staff for their wonderful care and compassion.
