Ardis Elaine Hokins
March 27, 1951 - March 24, 2026
Born to Wallace and Frances (Minet) Hokins. She grew up on the family farm in Ruthton, MN . Soon after graduating from high school , she was united in marriage to Dale Babcock . After that they lived in Sioux Falls, SD. Before moving to Minneapolis. Where she went to college briefly. Till the birth of their daughter.
Ardis had many jobs till she found her career with Metro Transit as Driver Badge 1203 - she was so proud of being a Bus Driver. She loved driving the streets of Minneapolis , she loved her passengers and took delight in getting to know them. One passenger wrote a letter... "I have ridden her bus countless times. She is always the most pleasant, friendly driver I have ever encountered within your organization. She consistently greets her passengers and anyone exiting through the front door is offered, 'Have a Good One !' and P.S. I love her great eyewear!" . She loved her style up to the end. Unfortunately, she had to medically retire. She continued to battle her health for many years but she is no longer in pain. Thank you to all of those that cared for her, her Family and Friends.
Ardis lived her life the way she wanted it, one thing you could always find around her all her life was her animals.
She was proceeded in death by her Parents, Sisters, Niece and Nephew and Sir Shoo Shoo.
Honor her in your own way, as there will not be a formal ceremony.
In lieu of memorials please donate to any animal cause, as she loved them all.
