Ardith (Henderson) McClay (93) of Terryville, CT, beloved wife of the late William Henry McClay, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. Born in Houlton, ME, daughter of the late Ernest L. and Elva (Eleiott) Henderson, she was raised in Littleton, ME. She later moved to Hartford and finally to Terryville, CT where she lived for 64 years. She and her husband were members of Grace Baptist Church, Bristol, then were among the founding families of Valley Community Baptist Church in Avon where they have been members ever since. She was an active mom serving in the school PTAs and church related activities. As a payroll clerk for many years, she was last employed by Bristol Hospital before retiring to care for her grandchildren and later her sweeties, as she called her great-grandchildren. Her life centered around church and her family. She enjoyed vacationing and spending quality time with them, especially sharing her strong Christian faith. She leaves her three sons and their wives; Joel K. McClay (Mary) of Terryville, Bruce A. McClay (Connie) of Shoreview, MN, and Carlo J. McClay (Lisa) of Baldwinsville, NY; grandchildren Matthew McClay (Amy), Katie Evanson (Joe), Jenna McClay, Brandon McClay (Kelly), and Sara Caruso (Elijah); and great-grandchildren, her Sweeties, Emma, Sadie, Mason, Luke, and Olivia McClay, and Catherine Caruso. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother Keith Henderson. Her family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 3-5 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 5 p.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon, CT. Burial will take place in Littleton Cemetery, Littleton, ME, on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
