Vinnie Schultz and I were lucky enough to have been placed together into E-1 with Arild Olsen. He was an outstanding individual with an amazing family (parents Walter and Irma and younger siblings Steven and Janet) that I was fortunate enough to get to know and spend time with during our four years at West Point. The first time he brought one of his mothers super delicious chocolate cakes back to our room after his family visited from Staten Island was one of the first of many great memories we had together. Arild showed me NYC in ways only a local could and the good times we had in NYC, New Jersey and Pennsylvania together are some of my fondest memories of my time at USMA. Rest in Peace Arild and I look forward to meeting with you again. Your brother forever, Randy Henson

He lit up everyone he came across. Remember well, many chance meetings during the dark gray time at West Point, a shining beam of sunshine coming into a classroom full of energy, smiles, and making us feel as if spring was here already.

Randy Henson and I were Ari´s first detail Plebe roommates at West Point in 1974. We stayed out of trouble in E1, while helping each other get through our first academic semester. Ari was a great roommate and friend. May his memory become a blessing.
