Arleen Harris Estus, age 76, was born on June 8, 1948, in Gulfport, MS and departed on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 in Gulfport, MS. Granny, auntie, or, Grannyleen as she was affectionately known, was born to the union of the late Carl W. Harris, Sr. and Luecresha Freightman Harris. Arleen enjoyed anything that had to do with family getting together. She was always in the mood for a good card game or going to eat some crabs. She was a private person but she knew everything about all her family members. She enjoyed being the one to take care of her family.
Arleen was preceded in death by her parents, Carl W. Harris, Sr. and Luecresha Freightman Harris; brother, Teddy Harris; brother Carl W. Harris, Jr.; sister, Carleen Leach, nephew, Christopher Coleman; and niece, Tambra Harris.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her loving husband, Ronald Estus, daughter, Arlana (Julius) Okyere, son, James (Keke) Payton, Jr., son Tirrell (Aly) Payton, and son Kanye Payton, four sisters, Patricia Carter, Linda (Willie) Robertson, Hilda (Larry) Maye, Deneice Harris (Norman Smith, Jr.); brother, Jerome Harris; two sisters-in-law, Edith Harris and Betty Hamilton; two granddaughters Precious Deal and Kennedy Payton, four grandsons, George Deal, Jr., Maxwell Payton, Gabriel Cesna, and Elijah Hamilton, one great-granddaughter, Kizzy Deal, bonus daughter, Lavette Dameron, and special friends Mary Young and Cynthia Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. Friends may visit one hour prior to service.
