Arlene Mae Sholley Bailey passed away from this life and into the arms of her Lord on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the age of 100 years. Born July 17, 1925, in Selinsgrove, PA, Arlene was the youngest daughter of the late Harvey and Katie (Weirick) Sholley. She was the loving wife of the late Earl Ward Bailey for 64 years, who died on January 17, 2011. She is the last of her immediate family.
She attended the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene since the church's beginning. Arlene thanked God for her long life with her husband and family. Her faith was evident in the way she sacrificially loved and served others.
She was employed at Chef Boyardee, Milton Shoe Factory, and she and Earl owned the Bailey Orchard for seven years. She retired from the Buffalo Valley Nursing Home after 20 years.
Dear mother of sons Richard (Vivian) of Mifflinburg and Wayne (Tammy) of Selinsgrove, and daughter Sharon (Louie) Campbell of Lewisburg.
Cherished grandmother of Chad (Jocelyn), Chris (Nici) of Lewisburg, Jennifer (Daniel) Gallant of Texas, Angela (Jeff) Talbott of Florida, Brandi (Chris) Wheeler, and Ryan (Kathleen) of Maryland.
Caring great-grandmother of Emma Bailey, Audrey and Aaron Wheeler, Quinn and Connor Bailey, Erika and Jeffery Talbott, Sabrina (Ben) Coules, Matthew, Bradley, and Erin Gallant. Loving great great-grandmother of Calliope Coules.
All the above were her greatest joy, her proudest story, and the love that carried her through every season of her life. Also survived by many loving nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by brothers Norman, Raymond, Stanford, Paul, Carl, and Robert Sholley; sisters Helen Gemberling, Miriam Gill, and Pauline Dressler; Sholley nephews Stanford Jr., Raymond (Sonny), Michael, Scott, and Bill Dressler; nieces Charlotte Knouse, Irene Culp, and Martha Gill.
The family would like to offer their heartfelt appreciation to Sharon Bingaman for her kindness, support, and loving care shown to Arlene for many years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Arlene's memory can be made to the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene, 12 Market Street, Mifflinburg, PA 17844, or VNA Health System, 922 Buffalo Road, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
Family and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation from 10–11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene, 12 Market Street, Mifflinburg, PA, where the funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Wayne S. Krell.
Interment will be in the Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg, PA
