Arlene Lucile Heydinger, age 98, of New Washington, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Altercare in Bucyrus, Ohio surrounded by her family. She was born on July 6, 1927, in New Washington, Ohio to the late George F. and Ethel L. (Langjahr) Studer. Arlene was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society. She was the former secretary for the principal at Buckeye Central School for 36 years. She was also a member and Past President of the Auxiliary American Legion 405 and enjoyed socializing and fishing at Lake Erie at Summer Breeze and playing cards. The family would like to thank Dr. Khavari and the staff at Altercare of Bucyrus for their loving care.
She is survived by her son, Timothy "Tim" Heydinger of New Washington; sister, Carol (Frank) Henak; and sister-in-law, Wes Studer.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Russell F. "Buck" Heydinger whom she married on June 13, 1949; premature twins, Doris and Donna; sister, Janice (John) Burger; and brother, Donald Studer.
Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM . Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Bernard's Catholic Church on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 10:30 AM with Fr. Eric Mueller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the donor's choice. I'm sorry for your loss. I was one of Arlene's third shift aides at altercare. She wasn't shy about telling you what she thought. That's one of the things I love about her. She made me laugh. She will be missed.
