Arlene Marston

Arlene Marston passed away peacfully at the Pacifica House Hospice in Carlsbad CA on Jan 17, 2017. She fought bravely, courageously, and endured almost three months in the hospital after falling in late October 2016. She was blessed with visits from friends, family, and the daily support of her loving son, Joey. She was never alone, always surrounded by love and comfort. Arlene was a resident of Vista Ca where she retired with her late husband Edward Marston Arlene was born in Chicago Illinois on December 27 1932. She was the daughter of late Charles and Shirley Rothman, along with sister to the late Rosyln Pine. During her life Arlene lived in Chicago Illinois and Phoenix Arizona, eventually moving to San Diego, after Edward retired. In the early years of retirement, Arlene and Edward enjoyed splitting time between Vista, and going down to Mexico. They enjoyed fishing and traveling. In more recent times Arlene was met with the challenge of having macular degeneration. She still had some vision, but was legally blind. Arlene rose up to the challenge magnificently , attended the Braille Institute in Lajolla CA, learning all the skills she needed and became an Advocate. She was truly amazing and did not let this slow her down one bit! Arlene was always the life of the party, she always kept busy with friends and family. She enjoyed attending the temple B'nia Shalom in Vista and was a member of the Red Hats Society. Arlene is survived by her son Joel Lampert, her nieces Denise Jones, Susan Harris, and nephew Steven Pine, along with all their children. Arlene is also survived by several living cousins and many friends. She was loved very much and will be greatly missed. There will be a memorial service on January 17, 2018, at the Sierra Vista Mobile Home Park Clubhouse to celebrate her life, followed by lunch.
