Arlene Bernice Roach, a beacon of gentleness and faith, passed away peacefully from lung cancer on October 28, 2025, in Conroe, TX at the age of 91. She was born October 20, 1934 in Los Angeles to Rachel and Jesse Roe, where she had a wonderful childhood surrounded by her sisters Marilyn and Coleen and brother Dennis. Arlene was married to Howard Rose and had two children; Steven Rose and Susan Redman.
Arlene raised her children and earned her Bachelor's degree in Education from Pasadena City College as a single Mother. Later she met and married Larry Roach, the love of her life. They moved to Silverdale, WA in the early 1980s. She spent many happy years in Silverdale where she was involved in her church, the local TOPS group, and bowling. As an avid gardener, her yard was a showcase of her love of roses and other plants.
After Larry's passing she moved to Conroe, TX to be near her family. There she joined West Conroe Baptist Church where she was active in her Sunday School class, Bible Study, and Widows' group.
Arlene kept her mind active by playing Scrabble and Dominos and reading a variety of books. She also traveled worldwide with family and friends
Arlene will be remembered as a loving, faith-filled, and gentle soul. Her presence was a comfort to those in need, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her.
She will be missed deeply by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arlene will be interred in Washington with her husband, Larry.
