Arlene Warlin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Canale Tonella Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Marquette on Feb. 5, 2025.
There was a family reunion in heaven when Arlene (Rankinen) Warlin, loving Mother, Mother-In-Law, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025 at Marquette County Medical Care Facility.
Arlene was born on June 20, 1936 in Republic. After her parents passed, she was raised at a young age by her Aunt Saimi and Uncle Hjalmer Korte with their children Dale and Dean. She graduated from Republic High School. She married Robert "Bob" Warlin in 1955 and was a devoted homemaker. She lovingly took care of and enjoyed all her time with her grandchildren who were the joy of her life. She worked at the Republic IGA and after Bob passed, worked as a Dietary Aide at MCMCF. She later enjoyed being a caretaker to Republic residents. She volunteered at Bethany Lutheran Church where she was a member. She enjoyed quilting with the church ladies and bus trips with Republic residents.
She leaves behind her loving daughters Peggy (Joe) LaForge and Karen (Tom) Anderson, grandchildren Joe (Rachel) LaForge, Chera LaForge, Matthew, Adam and Amanda Anderson, great grandson Darius LaForge, sister Nancy Levi, in-laws Barbara Augustson, Elaine Maki, Wally (Dorothy) Warlin, David (Delphine) Warlin, Priscilla Martti, Terry Martti and Rose Rankinen and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son Alan, parents Albert and Hannah, sisters Marilyn Olander, Evelyn Salminen, Delphine Evans-Sugameli and Helen Mattila, brothers Sulo and Norman Hogan, Reino, Lawrence, Clarence, James, Stanley, Roger and Marvin Rankinen.
Honoring Arlene's wishes, she will be placed to rest in the Republic Cemetery alongside her husband and son during a private memorial service in the spring.
Memorials in Arlene's name may be directed to Marcus' Mission (in memory of Marcus Antilla), 107 Superior View Lane, Negaunee, MI 49866.
She was loved greatly and will be forever missed. "Best Mom Ever."
