Published by Legacy on Nov. 21, 2025.
Arlene E. Welsh, of Washington Twp and formerly of Deptford and Margate, passed away on November 16, 2025. Born on May 26, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Edmund and Helen Olejniczak, Arlene's life was a testament to the power of unwavering devotion and gentle grace.

Arlene's life was marked by her deep commitment to her family. She was the cherished wife of William M. Welsh, with whom she was looking forward to celebrating 60 years of marriage this coming March. Together, they built a life filled with love and mutual support. Arlene was a loving mother to her children, William A. Welsh (Dora), Joseph E. Welsh, and Kristine A. Houck (David), and an adoring grandmother to Sean Welsh, Caroline Welsh, Charlotte Welsh, and David Houck III. Her family was her pride and joy, and she poured her heart into creating a warm and nurturing home for them.

Arlene's role as a homemaker extended beyond the walls of her own home. She was actively involved in her children's education, participating in the PTA at St. Agnes School, where she was known for her thoughtful contributions and kind-hearted nature. Arlene also played a crucial role in her husband's upholstery and furniture business, managing the finances and bookkeeping with meticulous care. Her dedication to her family's endeavors was unwavering.

Arlene's interests reflected her loving spirit. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as reading, crossword puzzles, and the companionship of her beloved dog, Lucy, who was a constant source of happiness and comfort. Arlene's presence was a gift to all who knew her, and she will be remembered for her loving, thoughtful, and kind nature.

The family will be celebrating her life privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Arlene's memory to: Gloucester County Animal Shelter.
