Arline died at Licking Memorial Hospital on Saturday, April 19, 2025. She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on April 21, 1939, to the late Thomas Augustus and Gertrude Susan (Barbetta) Cappadona.
A graduate of Hempstead High School, Arline received her B.A. in Interior Design from the University of Cincinnati and also studied at the University of Heidelberg in Germany, Hofstra University and the New School for Social Research. She earned her Master's in Education in addition to her LPCC.
Arline always held a great love for Germany and many fond memories of her time living and attending college there. She became very fluent with the culture and eventually taught the German language to high schoolers in New York upon her return to the States. She moved to the local area in the late 90's and joined the Newark-Granville Psychological and Counseling Services therapy practice in Granville, working for many years as a psychotherapist.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and a longtime parishioner of St. Leonard Catholic Church. Devoted to her faith, Arline served as an adorer and volunteered in offices.
A woman of many talents, Arline enjoyed sewing, listening to music and was an avid painter, especially enjoying the medium of watercolor. She also enjoyed writing and had recently published her book, A Feather on My Step. Arline was a friend to many, including those she greeted often at Jolly Pirate Donuts.
She will be greatly missed by her 3 sons, Giovanni (Giovanna) Iannicello, Michele (Cathy) Iannicello, and Christiano (Elissa) Iannicello; 3 grandchildren, Rachel, Mindy, and Steven; and brother, Dr. Augustus (Betty) Cappadona.
Arline was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Roberta Cappadona.
