Arlo Shepherd Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jones-Preston Funeral Home - Paintsville on Feb. 13, 2026.
Arlo Jack Shepherd, age two, of Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Though his time on this earth was far too short, Arlo's life was filled with love, joy, and wonder that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Arlo was the beloved son of Brice and Saruh Shepherd. From the moment he entered the world, he brought light and laughter to his family. He had a special love for turtles, enjoyed swinging with his Poppy, riding bikes with his Papaw, and exploring the world around him with curiosity and excitement. His bright spirit and adventurous heart touched everyone he met.

Arlo is lovingly remembered by his grandparents, James and Norma Shepherd, and Greg Davis and Paula Hall Flora, along with many other family members and friends who cherished him deeply.

Though Arlo was so young, his strength, courage, and beautiful smile inspired countless people. His life reminds us that even the smallest souls can leave the biggest impact.

A memorial service honoring Arlo's life will be held at Paintsville First United Methodist Church on February 21, 2026, between 12 pm and 4 pm.

The family requests that instead of flowers, monetary donations be made to the organization they are developing called "Arlo's Smiles." The primary purpose of this will be to provide push carts and other toys to children receiving treatment at the Kentucky Children's Hospital in Lexington. This is a way that we as his family can ensure that his legacy of love and comfort for other little warriors continues.

Arlo will forever be loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.

Jones-Preston Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with all final arrangements for Arlo Jack Shepherd.
